On configuring Trunks

Hi,
I’ve used Wazo in it’s older incarnation in the past, but have tried the new Platform a few times, but the new version is bewildering to me. Specifically, configuring trunks using the web gui. There are about six tabs with two regarding registration and then pull-down menus to set parameters. The problem is, how do you know what parameters are needed and what syntax to use? I’ve even looked at PJSIP docs and I can’t figure out how to successfully register and use a trunk. I can’t find any documentation on this. Is there a short and sweet method to get trunks online, or am I missing something obvious?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

You can use this as your guide to translate from Chan_SIP to PJSIP
https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Migrating+from+chan_sip+to+res_pjsip

Also there is no one solution that fits all, you may ask your provider to guide you on this as each provider has its own specific settings.

Thanks very much for that info Miker. The sip_to_pjsip script helped enormously. Using that I was able to set up one trunk and see in the asterisk CLI that it is registered. Now I’ll have to try calls

Thanks,
Steve
